The Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM) is a significant step towards a successful career in emergency. The exam, conducted by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM), primarily evaluates the knowledge and clinical skills of aspirants in dealing with emergency medical situations.Here, we will discuss the MRCEM exam calendar for 2023, providing you with all the necessary information to achieve success.

 MRCEM Primary Exam Dates

The MRCEM Primary exam is a written multiple-choice question exam that assesses the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the core principles of emergency medicine. Candidates must register for the Primary exam at least six weeks before the exam date. In 2023, the MRCEM Primary exam dates are:

  • May 17, 2023 (Diet 1)-UK & International Pearson VUE test centres
  • November 22, 2023 (Diet 2)-UK & International Pearson VUE test centres

MRCEM SBA Exam Dates

The Part B exam is a practical exam that assesses the candidate’s ability to apply their knowledge and skills in a simulated emergency scenario. Candidates must register for the Part B exam at least eight weeks before the exam date. The Part B exam is usually held twice per year, In 2023, we expect the Part B exam to be held on the following dates:

  • April 25, 2023 (Diet 1)-UK & International Pearson VUE test centres
  • October 26, 2023 (Diet 2)-UK & International Pearson VUE test centres

 MRCEM OSCE Exam Dates: 

The MRCEM OSCE is a structured oral exam that assesses the candidate’s ability to apply their knowledge and skills to more complex emergency scenarios. This exam tests the candidate’s ability to manage critical and complicated situations and provide appropriate treatment to patients.Candidates must register for the MRCEM OSCE exam at least eight weeks before the exam date. 

The MRCEM OSCE is to be held on the following dates:

  • February 6-14, 2023- (Diet 1) -(London)
  • June 12-20, 2023 -(Diet 2)- (London)
  • November 13-24, 2023 -(Diet 3)- (London)
  • July 24-28, 2023- (India – Chennai )- (Diet 1)- Apollo Proton Cancer Care Centre)
  • 09-13 October 2023 – ( India – Hyderabad) – (Diet 2) -ApoKOS Rehabilitation Centre
  • March 13-17, 2023 -(Diet 1)-(Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur)
